What we do
Curiosity Approach
The Curiosity approach is a fairly new adaptation into our nursery, but a great experience. Curiosity approach uses natural resources of everyday use within each room, nothing has a set experience and can be played with an explored however each child chooses to express. We have many different areas such as small parts, which includes nails, gems, wooden disks, corks, shells and many other varieties. It doesn’t stop there we have access to large bike wheels and cable reels, also things that are breakable such as china tea sets, this teaches the children to appreciate their toys and how to handle things carefully while still teaching them the dangers of breaking things. Within the Curiosity Approach no object has a gender limit nor a imagination limit, it can be whatever the child wants it to be, giving them free rain of individual expression.
Forest School
Forest school is outdoor based learning, bringing elements of both nature and nurture together creating holistic learning and development. Children learn at a different pace when given an open ended opportunity, forest school is about going with the flow of the day and the children’s interests and preferences. Forest school teaches the children to be self sufficient and also how to express themselves through risk taking with confidence building and learning through trial and error.
